Well I did it.  I upgraded my primary box from FC5 to FC6.  I started
the process around 8:15 PM and completed it at 11:45 PM or 3 1/2
hours.  I attempted to follow the directions here but things did not work out exactly to plan.  The repository listed was not responding so I went to DistroWatch and found the list of mirrors.  I chose the http ibiblio.org site and found the RPMS.  In GNOME terminal I ran the “rpm -Uhv” command along with the 2 rpm links from ibiblio.  That step only took a minute or two.  I then ran the “yum -y update” command.  That took about an hour and 45 minutes to fetch all the updated files.  I wasn’t looking at my screen when it completed but it attempted to start the actual update but crashed.  I then opened the GUI Package Manager and it crashed too.  I decided to reboot the machine (an old windoze habit when somethings brakes).  I then restarted the GUI Package Manager and low-and-behold it started to complete the upgrade to FC6.  That ran from about 10:30 PM until 11:45 PM.  When it was complete it recommended to reboot which I did.  Somewhat surprisingly it then booted right into to FC6 without any noticeable problems (yet). We’ll see…
